EN ISO 20345-compliant white safety shoes rated S2 offer the following basic protective features:
Toe protection (steel or composite toecap, impact resistance ≥200J, compression resistance ≥15kN)
Antistatic properties (ESD or dissipative, typically with electrical resistance between 10⁵–10⁹ Ω)
Oil-resistant outsole
Energy absorption in the heel area (reduces fatigue during prolonged standing/walking)
Closed tongue design (prevents liquids and dust from entering the shoe)
Upper material with limited water resistance (less than S3; S2 does not require puncture resistance or full waterproofing)
White color complies with food hygiene standards;
Slip-resistant, oil-resistant, and easy to clean;
Closed tongue prevents entry of liquids like broth or grease.
White appearance allows easy detection of contamination;
Antistatic feature avoids interference with sensitive instruments;
Easy to disinfect and non-shedding, meeting GMP or ISO cleanroom requirements.
Antistatic properties protect electrostatic-sensitive components;
Lightweight and comfortable for extended standing;
Clean aesthetic matches cleanroom garments.
Toe protection against light falling objects;
Slip-resistant sole suitable for smooth floors (e.g., epoxy-coated);
White color often used for uniform corporate appearance.
Construction sites, metallurgy, mining, or heavy industry: lacks puncture resistance (available in S1P/S3) and sufficient waterproofing/abrasion resistance;
Outdoor use in rain or snow: S2 uppers are not waterproof—prolonged exposure to water will cause seepage;
High-voltage electrical work: S2 does not include electrical insulation (requires separate certification for 6kV/12kV).
EN S2 white safety shoes = Cleanliness + Antistatic + Toe Protection + Oil Resistance + Light Indoor Protection
Recommended for: Food processing, pharmaceuticals, electronics, laboratories, light manufacturing, and indoor warehouse operations—i.e., clean, dry, low-hazard indoor workplaces.
